Why is Girls doing so poorly in Korea?

    Internationally, it makes sense considering the song is way too long and there's absolutely nothing catchy about it at all


    But in Korea? I never would have expected an Aespa official title track to do worse than DCT or Step Back. Even if people don't like the song, it's not like Koreans are above token-stanning terrible songs if they are from popular groups...like Signal won SOTY, Ice Cream peaked at #6 on Melon 24Hits, and even Zimzalabim was #3 on Melon the day it was released


    IMO, I think it's because Aespa's long hiatus while other groups like IVE and LSRF were debuting and two underwhelming pre-releases killed the hype. If SM had left Illusion for the album and scraped LTS altogether, I bet we would have seen Girls charting similar to Savage initially

    Sm’s promotion for this album has been a huge mess. Long teasing period (the album started to be teased a whopping 1.5 month prior to its release - that’s way too long) + random singles being released diminished the hype for the actual cb song rather than enhancing it like they’d hoped. And the song itself and its lack of catchiness didn’t help making it rise after release to salvage its charting so the rest is history

    The only thing doing poorly is your sad attempt troll title cause its been like 3-5 days? and they are actually doing great with all the competition going on right now.

    They had kfestivals, pre-release, coachella, and songs early into the year. How is that long hiatus

    Can people just wait first... It may rise with music show promotions

    Let’s wait for the 2 week mark, once they start promoting it’ll be obvious wether this is just early concern or if girls really ain’t clicking

    how is it doing poorly it's in the top 20 of all charts '-'

    it just need for promotion to start to finally break into the top 10 like most songs


    and btw step back did well once the performance of the song was uploaded

    it might rise since they haven't promote in music show yet

    girls will definitely rise after promos.

    people need to realize that Next Level was not the standard for Aespa. It was pure luck, and they likely will never have a song that reaches that height again. It certainly doesn't help that every subsequent song they released after has been terrible in some form or way. Eventually at this rate they are going lose the GP good will that Next Level got them.

    You know, because of all these threads I’m hoping Girls starts smashing after music shows. You all sound so joyous that a young girl group is not performing as well as one of the biggest viral hits of 2021.
