Does being tagged together with Wonyoung help or harm Ahn Yujin's career?

    Being in the same company and groups with Wonyoung has brought a lot of attention to Yujin, but it seems like in a way she'll always be limited and be known as Wonyoung's "sidekick". A lot of people have also commented on Yujin's glow up when IVE debuted, and she is also expanding on her own solo activities.


    If Yujin were to lead a new group by herself or debut as solo, instead of being always together with Wonyoung, do you think she'll have a better chance at making a name for herself? There has been a lot of "duos" in Kpop over the years, such as Eunwoo and Moonbin, Karina and Winter, Yeji and Ryujin, but the label of being a "number 2" is hard to shake off and Yujin will always be the number 2 to Wonyoung's number 1.


    So, does always being tagged together with Wonyoung help or harm Yujin's career? Would it be a smarter decision for Starship to slowly separate the duo so Yujin can build her name up instead of being Wonyoung's sidekick?

    Idk. I think a good way to separate the duo would be to give Yujin an acting debut, but who knows?

    Why are you guys so obsesses with them. Are your faves so flop they can only afford to have one stand out member at a time? Wonyoung and Yujin are twin pillars (literally look at their matching heights lol) who's birthdays are literally a day apart. That they should come together in Starship and become IVE is nothing short of destiny. A perfect pair of twin pearls, two moons, the morning and evening stars, Venus and Serena, Yin and Yang, the greatest power duo of the 4th gen. The It Girl and Golden Ace.

    I think each of them will have their viral moments, but in fact, Wonyo will always be more appreciated in the industry. Also Lisa is much bigger than Jennie, I don't think it's a "duo" for now.


    I see you used aespa Winter and Karina and for example if you look at their 'Savage' cb, even if the song was Winter centric, Karina was still the only one whose name was most often associated with the term 'Savage', 'aespa' and more words according to Korean Hallyu Wave Data Market Research. So I think Winter and Yujin might be in the same position, they can be successful with viral moments, but still Wonyo and Karina manage to attract more people and fans who actually support so, therefore, more sells, activities, engagement etc.

    they both shine in different ways. but trust me when i say yujin will skyrocket into fame pretty soon. she has that actress look that suits korean gp and that will eclipse wonyoungs cute barbie girl image in the long run. she's alarmingly getting to popular from her variety show, her cf deals and magazine covers. featuring in versace. burberry , adidas gucci etc. shes getting the attention. this month alone she travelled to thailand ,busan and made diff photo shoots for big brands. wonyoung got skt and innis free

    I heard Karina sold more magazines individually despite winter being more popular. Ik if it's true in the end though. But she did sell more at one point which was very surprising

    I agree. She needs to work on her acting because once knetizens agree she's good, getting a good script will be a matter of time. Plus she can sing, so ss need to give her a hit potentional ost.

    Wonyoung got too much fillers that made her face stiff and unmovable which could be seen in one of fan calls, so I don't know how it will help with acting in the future and she's not even 18.

    Also iirc Yujin started getting more attention once she got ride of those bangs in izone panorama era. She looks cute with them, but is a stunner to me when she removes them.
