Do acts like SVT, TXT, SKZ, Treasure, NCT, etc

  • have to comeback so very often because they will lose hype and sales if they take a long hiatus or gap between releasing albums? :melon_think:

    Approved the thread.
  • Stray Kids only had 1 proper comeback in 2021 iirc and a single release in December.

  • It's really funny how kpop fans are only willing to mix NCT's units together when it's convenient for them, but otherwise keep telling fans not to do it.

NCT units ideally release one album per year. I don't understand how this fits in your narrative. Compare NCT units' discographies to their peers, or even groups much younger than them and you'll see how small their discographies are in comparison.

  • TXT lose a lot of spotify listeners during breaks between albums

  • NCT 127 went over 400 days between comebacks, so nearly a year. They release about 1 album and 1 repack each year. How is that coming back so often?

(And probably because they take so long to comeback, that made the albums blockbusters.)

And why these groups when there are gg who come back often or less popular bg who also come back often?

  • Seventeen comes back twice a year? Isn't that standard? I think their skills deserve the hype! Take a look :)

  • Treasure's no stranger to hiatuses though. They had more than 1 year of hiatus between the time the group was formed and official debut, then after debut they had another 1 year hiatus until the recent comeback with JikJin/Darari. If Treasure gets 2 comebacks in 2022 then I expect that they will take a whole of 2023 off.

  • SKZ had one album and its repackage in 2020, one proper comeback (11 months after the aforementioned repackage) and an unpromoted Christmas single in 2021. This year they'll have 2 Korean comebacks, and a digital(?) album that's most likely not going to be promoted (it's just a collection of songs they released on Youtube, being made available on streaming platforms).

  • I feel like seventeen is the male version of twice but on steroids. So many comebacks and always with new ways to milk their fans by selling so many versions but makes no noise whatsoever

  • honest none of this groups have too much comebacks... they basically have around 6-9 months of hiatus, basically 2 cbs per year, a normal group would do... if you fave only show up once a year we have nothing with it

2 comebacks a year is not 'so many', it's pretty standard, and i dont see how making no noise(which is only true on akp) relates to releasing many versions(which worked because they crossed 2M on hanteo in the first week)

  • None of these groups have many release. 1-2 release per year, 3 if there is a repackage.

    Normal.

TXT lose a lot of spotify listeners during breaks between albums

Txt went from roughly 5M to 8M between Freeze and Ps5, then went back down to 7.3M. Now is back again for 8M. That’s honestly not a lot of drop.

    :pepe-notes:

In comparison Enhypen had 8.4M (if I remember correctly) as their highest now at 6.4M.

I’m not sure about the other groups as I don’t stan them but it looks like this is average for Spotify followers, unnecessary to point out Txt only…unless you are a hater.
