Nah. The context is different in the two songs.

In Playboy Carti's original verse, there is a very clear context to the verse: he goes shirtless and women around him find him so hot that they're left breathless.

Leo's rap however....first of all, there is absolutely no context to "why that bitch stop breathing". IN FACT, he asks the audience, as if we had the answer that we're holding from him, as if we could see something that he doesn't while he's raging ("ain't nobody gon tell me why that bitch stop breathing"). All of this is conveyed angrily—and no that's not my own interpretation, he himself said he was angry when he wrote that and asked people not to mind the lyrics too much, because he KNEW they were fucked up. So why is he so angry?

The only info we get about her is that it's implied he thinks she's a golddigger ("fuck that hoe in my bank" and probably that "tell that bitch took that bitch to the store" line is referencing that too, but it's kind of nonsensical). So, he's angry at her for using his money. But then where the fuck does the "bitch stop breathing" part come from?? What could have happened that just innocently took her breath away? It's not his money, because Leo is already sure that she's obsessed with his money; and as I wrote earlier, he explicitly doesn't know what caused her to stop breathing.

Moreover, he also refers to her as "shit"—"bitch" and "hoe" can be "simply" misogynistic without an added layer of active anger; but "shit" can't. Once again, this reinforces that he's extremely angry, and rules out interpretations that he is actually tolerating this relationship.

So...we haven't found any other explanation. It's only natural that when you have a furious yet confused person who never gives context to a line that sounds violent within its context (because there is no effort to provide context at all), you think of a violent act.
