except soyeon, gg rappers are just "idol rappers" not rappers

    i think most of them do a good job rapping in their own songs but outside of that, none of them are the amazing rappers their fans claim they are. the ones that write, haven't written anything good and in all honestly, if it wasn't revealed that they wrote it, fans would be complaining about trash lyrics. not to mention a lot of them don't know how to rap on stage. they get on stage and shout out the lyrics. not even in a specific way to highlight certain lyrics, but just shouting their entire verse. most of them can only handle 1 or 2 flows and it becomes blatantly obvious when they get a more complex flow and it doesn't sound as good and then fans go and blame the verse when it was really just the idol who couldn't perform it well.


    a lot of bg rappers fall into this too but then you have a lot that don't (block b zico, 3racha, bobby, b.i., bts namjoon and suga, etc).

    She's not THE best female rapper to be alive or whatever, but comparing to gg rappers, she's absolutely great. Even without rapping, her talent in producing would drown most ggs. I would be worried if my favs go up against her. jfc

    Like yes we all know there are less skilled rappers in gg than bg, firstly less women rap in the first place, women are discouraged from writing or having any say in their music too (soyeon has talked about how she had to fight tooth and nail)

    Tomboy Rap's reputation is something you can take to the Bank, mention Soyeon and 5 minutes later there will be someone going "asckhually tomboy rap", completely ignorant to the context of the rap.

    There are plenty of good female ‘rappers’.


    Yezi from Fiestar, LE from EXID and CL from 2NE1 all write their own raps and are skilled.

    CL and LE both have really good stage presence and are better than their counterparts so they get held up as amazing rappers but when you break it down to their technical rapping skills, neither of them are any good.


    That being said I didnt even know Yezi is from a kpop group so I would add Yezi to the list of exceptions

    Considering people call Saweetie a rapper, I think a lot of female gg rappers are good enough.


    Their job is to deliver a good rap, and in my opinion a lot of female gg rappers do that, sometimes better than western counterparts such as Saweetie.

    This low key a set up. You don't need to put other idols down to praise your fave.
