My point is that it seems a bit bizarre for people to be absolutely frothing at the mouth trying to tear her to shreds when they don't know her personally or are themselves involved in the situation.
It seems weird that a one month old unknown can generate this much vitriol, especially compared to other more established idols who have had similar issues - some of whom are still promoting.
Am I the only one?
As for this comment, it seems to be less people defending her but rather saying wait until everything comes out before passing judgement.

No, I laughed at that recent thread and just now people being "neutral" because days ago everything was a lie and people wanted Garam and Hybe fall. So after today's events that people are willing to not believe Garam, we have a supposed victim that tried to k herself thanks to Garam fans and Hybe statements and on the other hand we have Garam enjoying her life promoting like nothing is happening so who had the most support in your point of view?

what's upsetting about this while mess is that she kept on denying, hybe trying to depict her as a victim of bullying when the real bully has been her this whole time.
A girl tried to take her life, had to change school, got her family life in a mess and what the biggest agency in kpop is thinking about is trying to save the face of the abuser. And all for what ? For some money.
The same agency that pushed about self love and respect has sued a girl that has been bullied and who only asked for an apology.
This is exactly what people should be angry about, people with money always getting their way after making other suffer.

Being bullied and being a bully are not mutually exclusive. I don't know what events Hybe is refering to exactly but both statements can coexist. It's weird to play this card though, as it tends to make things even worse.

is the way to put le sserafim down, and therefore hybe

I think a bunch of factors, the first is that bullying is a sore subject for most kpop fans, why? because by liking kpop you're automatically an outcast if you're not Asian. So I bet most get bullied a ton, 2nd, it's Hybe's gg, and we know many have strong feelings about Hybe, and lastly, kpop fans always feel the need to give their thoughts and opinions on everything, sadly, kpop has very little to do with music, and a lot to do with gossip and tea and edginess, etc.

Simple. Lynch mob mentality.
Do you think people that accused women of being witches and that went to watch witch burnings or seeing some sap hang from a tree really cared about careful investigation or looking at things from several sides to prevent mistakes? Nope.
They were just looking for an easy outlet for their pent up feelings of anger, outrage, powerlessness, injustice etc.
Nothing has changed, because it's the same now.
People are too impatient and uncontrolled to wait for the real truth to come out, or for more facts to emerge: they want easy answers, to see things black & white, and make snap judgments based on unproven rumors and merely a few facts.
Simply put: they want to see a b*tch burn, and they don't care which of the 2 parties'll burn as long as it's 1 of both.
Best example: T-ARA.
First entire hordes rushed to bash T-ARA to oblivion, and when after years it became clear that things were more nuanced and that Hwayoung and her sister were no saints, they once again rushed to bash Hwayoung and her sister, never even once considering that the truth might lie somewhere in the middle and that things weren't black & white.

Most people who supported kim garam before this, support her because there were no evidences and we thought she's a victim of malicious rumors and false accusations. If you have empathy and can empathize with the victim, can't you empathize with the victims of online bullying and witch hunt too? Soojin tried to attempted suicide too because of the hate and harassment by kpop fans but i barely see people empathizing with her.

I bet most people who write malicious comments don't know the target personally.
If I had to guess why the reaction in this case is worse than the others, I would say it is because
a) it seems like a more serious situation than the others*
b) the idol in question is from a more highly anticipated group than the others (famous members, 1st bighit GG in 10 years) so they are under more scrutiny from the very start
c) the company is handling the case poorly
*The alleged victim is underage and had to drop out of school completely to receive treatment. She receieved hate and threats from Garam's defenders and attempted suicide.
Her legal team are threatening to release the school violence committee report confirming Garam's guilt. Both Garam and her parents had to complete a special education course as punishment. Soojin was let go from her company for less.
