I. Introduction
"Taste the Feeling" is a digital single from NCT 127, a sub-unit of boy group NCT. It is the 25th single of SM Station Season 1 and was released on July 29, 2016.
II. Background and Release
SM Station is a digital music project under SM Entertainment that involves solos or duets from members in existing SM groups, as well as opportunities for singers to experiment in other genres or collaborate with artists inside and outside of SM Entertainment. The project releases a number of singles digitally each year on digital platforms, including streaming audio like Spotify.
NCT 127 is a sub-unit of the boy group NCT. The group had only made its debut a few weeks prior on July 7, 2016, with its first song "Fire Truck." This song was a promotional tie-in with Coca-Cola and its marketing campaign song "Taste the Feeling," originally written and produced by Swedish DJ and producer Avicii for Coke's UEFA Euro 2016 ad campaign and Rio Summer Olympics campaign. The song was interpreted in multiple languages and used around the globe by Coke. Mamamoo would also record a version the next year for the Winter Olympic Games in Korea.
Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark and Haechan appear on the song. Johnny and Doyoung would not join the group until the following year, while Jungwoo would join a year after that. Members of NCT and NCT 127 would appear in future seasons of SM Station.
The song also appears as a theme song in seasons of NCT's variety series NCT Life. The song is not available on Spotify.
