Long Flight is a digital single from Korean rapper and songwriter Taeyong. It is the 16th and final single of SM Station Season 3 and was released on July 18, 2019.
II. Background & Release
SM Station is a digital music project under SM Entertainment that involves solos or duets from members in existing SM groups, as well as opportunities for singers to experiment in other genres or collaborate with artists inside and outside of SM Entertainment. The project releases a number of singles digitally each year on digital platforms, including streaming audio like Spotify.
Although Taeyong wrote lyrics for multiple NCT songs, he was known primarily as a rapper and songwriter, as well as the leader of NCT 127. He co-wrote this song, while also showcasing his vocals. Although he featured or partnered on other SM Station tracks and singles, this was his first solo track.
SM described the song as a "hip hop song with analog flick sound, expressing the emotions of a long flight in a dreamy atmosphere." Taeyong explained that he liked to fly long distance but know some did not and that the song could express the joy of this travel for others.
