Astro - Switch On


  • Switch On is the eighth mini album by South Korean boy group Astro. It was released on August 2, 2021 by Fantagio and contains six tracks with "After Midnight" serving as the title track.

    I. Background

    On July 12, Astro announced that they would be making a comeback with their eighth mini album. All members were involved in the writing and composing of each track on the album.

    Switch On debuted at number one on the weekly Hanteo album sales chart selling more than 275,000 copies in it's first week. It also debuted at number 1 on the Gaon Album chart and at number 5 on Japan's Oricon Album chart. Astro became only the fourth boy group to debut in the Gaon Digital Top 5 in 2021.


    "After Midnight" picked up it's first music show win on the August 10 episode of SBS MTV's The Show. It also picked up wins on the August 11 episode of Show Champion, the August 13 episode of Music Bank, and the August 14 episode of Show Music Core (fulfilling a long time goal for Eunwoo.)
