  • I. Introduction

    Five in the Black is the second Japanese studio album for South Korean boy group TVXQ, known in Japan as Tohoshinki. The album was released on March 14, 2007.


    II. Background and Release

    The album was released in 2 versions: a CD and a CD +DVD version with music videos. It featured 6 singles, which were previously released: "Begin" on June 21, 2006, "Sky" on August 16, 2006, "Miss You /"O"-正.反.合." on November 8, 2006, "Step by Step" on January 24, 2007 and "Choosey Lover" on March 7, 2007.

    V. Reception

    Fire in the Black reached #10 on the Japanese Oricon Monthly Album Charts and #6 in the Daily Albums Chart. It also charted in Korea on the monthly foreign albums and singles chart at #2. All five of its promotional singles charted in the top 15 on the Oricon Charts. "Miss You/O"-正.反.合." reached #3, "Sky" reached #6, "Step by Step" reached #7, "Choosey Lover" reached #9, "Begin" reached #15.
