Once again, context is needed. This chart launched in OCTOBER 2021. Twice had five comebacks in the last 16 months, whereas Blackpink had just one in that time.

BLACKPINK’s songs released in that time frame - 8 (Just the Born Pink album). Their peak on the chart is #16.

Twice's songs released in that time frame - 33 (including 1 jp single, 2 korean singles, 2 english singles) Their peak on the chart is only #76

When Born Pink was released, BP did 95 consecutive days on this chart

Twice has 96, but with several comebacks. Formula of Love managed just 34 days (their best performer).

BP was overshadowing Twice in Korea and the world from 2018, so 2 years were really without a true leader.
4th Gen may have started but those years BP was/is still the top girl group. The conversation doesn't end just because a new generation starts.

Twice lead for 2-3 years and BP the rest of the time, so "most part" doesn't really make sense.

They've been on a downfall since mid 2019 unfortunately. BP is the only 3rd gen girl group with any relevance anymore.

Blackpink on-demand US streams 500 million to Twice’s 300 millions. Idk why our fandom keeps making lies up about twice being most streamed.

I think the years of failure without giving up before they started gaining steam in 2016 was a big part of it. The consistent comebacks and not giving up gave a lot of content to gather a lot of fangirls little by little overtime.

CSPC would be a lot better I agree. Blackpink would be even farther ahead though and Red Velvet likely wouldn't make the list, and it was a RV chart account, so I guess that's why.

Now regarding the "very small amount of digital album sales missing", do we have a measure of how small these missing digital sales actually are? I'd be curious to see what percentage of the global digital album download market China commands.

Popular artists can sell around a million albums digitally in China (after the price increase to be closer in line with world prices). Japan, the second biggest music market after the US (which has worse album downloads than Japan), can be used as an example. While it's hard to find specific figures for entire countries in regards to specific to album downloads, we can look at one album in particular as an example.

Born Pink did 800k digital album sales in China. It sold about 35k copies in Japan, and total it only sold about 3.3k of those copies digitally. BP albums usually do better digitally than physically compared to other artists and it was almost 10 percent of their pure sales in Japan.

3.3k sales in the second biggest market. All world markets combined maybe 15k more would be added to their total? compared to 800k in China. Inclusion of all other markets, if we could find those values, would be nice, but it would have a very very small impact on this ranking.

It's easy to explain. Chinese platforms show digital album downloads. It's hard to get those numbers in almost every other country, partially due to how few there are these days.
China is the largest digital market, so the amount there will likely eclipse most other countries combined since few countries still have a lot o album downloads. Most countries rely on streaming. Japan, the second largest market, usually only has most groups doing 5-10k in digital sales per album, compared to hundreds of thousands in China for the same albums. Japan downloads may be included in these figures since those numbers are often able to be found, just statistically insignificant.

The numbers show the worldwide album sales (digital and physical) with a very small amount of digital album sales missing.
