Usually people refer 2018/2019 groups like itzy as start of 4th gen but they feel more like transitional group than start of new gen.

Like between snsd in 2nd gen and redvelvet in 3rd gen f(x) was the transitional group, similarly between twice in 3rd gen and jypngg (which will debut soon) in 4th gen itzy is the transitional group.
