This didn't happen to me specifically but srs I know too many people who are struggling and even were pressured to denounce their family publicly to get any sort of opportunity back (like legit "I don't know my mom anymore" and a restraining order is placed for a no-contact)

Even so, India could seize or force orders since they are the host country. Its not a clean method of getting vaccines but India can use their sovereign rights to order people and things around during times of emergency. They are already doing that with O2; directing redirecting industrial O2 to hospitals instead.

I don't think the video talked about materials but rather funding the research and manufacture of vaccines monetarily. Usually companies are in charge of their own manufacturing pipeline and supplies are commercially ordered. The only reason that the US is using government supplies to help relieve India is because the commercial suppliers assumingly don't have any inventory or any supplies coming soon to be effective.
