BTS J-Hope had a meaningful birthday.
The Green Umbrella Children's Foundation (Chairman Lee Je-hoon), a representative organization for child advocacy, announced that J-Hope, a member of the group BTS, delivered 150 million won in donations for children with disabilities on their birthday on February 18. This donation is expected to be used for childcare expenses, learning expenses, and facility support expenses for children with visual and hearing impairments who are experiencing economic difficulties.
J-Hope, who is also a member of the'Green Noble Club', a group of large donors of 100 million won or more of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, said, โI heard that the number of vulnerable families is increasing significantly, and support for children with disabilities is desperate, especially. Through this, I hope that social interest in children with disabilities will expand further.โ
J-Hope became the 146th member of the Green Noble Club in 2018. In 2018, they donated 150 million won for nurturing talent and children with patients, 100 million won for alma mater scholarships in February 2019, and 100 million won for treatment of patients in December of the same year. Then, in 2020, it delivered 100 million won to children in crisis families who are suffering from Corona 19, and sponsored a total of 600 million won.
As such, J-Hope continues to support children from poor families every year through the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, and the BTS fandom is also adding strength to J-Hope's good influence by actively making donations. In fact, it has been confirmed that about 118 applications for donation have been submitted to the foundation in the name of BTS and J-Hope since the report on J-Hope donation in 2019 and 2020.
Green Umbrella Children's Foundation Chairman Lee Je-hoon said, โWith the regular sponsorship of J-Hope, a member of the global star BTS, interest in children who are suffering from economic difficulties is inspiring, and the good influence leads to support inquiries from ARMY (BTS fandom) at home and abroad. He said, โThe Green Umbrella Children's Foundation will also do its best to support children from low-income families, with the will of all sponsors including J-Hope.โ
