Is Somi still popular / "IT" in Korea?

She was everywhere when she won Produce and the general public was eager for her to debut under JYPE, but after it was announced that she left them for YG and Birthday came out, I feel like her hype has been underwhelming.

I don't think anyone would've expected for Chungha to surpass her as an idol/soloist.

Is Somi still popular? If not, why do you think the public lost interest?

Was it because she signed to YG during the Burning Sun scandal or is music just not her strong suit anymore?

I can't see any of the top male artists right now working with BP unless it's someone like Shawn Mendes. The Weeknd's aesthetic is too dark and explicit for the girls', I doubt Korea would like that and Drake's rapping wouldn't suit Jenlisa.

I think Karina is the ace! She can sing, dance, apparently rap, she's the leader and so pretty!
