imo, dating an idol would be easier for me because i have trust issues and would think any non-celeb want me for my money or would betray me as soon as i want to break up.

however, i would understand dating a non-celeb as a way to feel 'normal'. to escape anything that remind me of work. so when i ask them about their day i can hear about something new.

oh i remember now. from what i saw it was mostly an unhealthy curiosity coming from fans rather than hate (if i remember correctly they thought it was some actress and she even wrote an ig post saying that it wasnt her but somebody else) but the fandom is huge so maybe i just didnt notice the really bad reactions.

also it depends of the members. the reactions wont be the same. like, half of the fandom already headcanon namjoon having a wife and kids so few people will be mad.

No. It's not a promotional tool. It's just for artists to communicate with fans and for fans to also buy their faves merch. You have to sign up to receive the artists notifications and all so if you're not fan you dont have to follow them. It's just like the fancafe platform or vlive. You only go there for the people you actually stan.
