Makes sense. I think I could get by in a Spanish speaking country. I can't speak Spanish but I can read enough of it to understand what's going on.
Also would be cool to visit Ireland and Scotland someday. I hear it's gorgeous, and has tons of history to discover.
Yeah...maybe. It's just that it's more my goal to become fluent in at least one other language and I'm the furthest out of all the languages I'm trying to learn (or will learn) for sure.
Ooh, yeah! I've heard about those places. EjellieBean lives in Ireland, I'm sure she can tell you about it.
During a zombie apocalypse, you don't want to be fighting off zombies all the time. Food is scarce and hard to find. You want to preserve your energy as much as possible. If not, you'll wear yourself out before the zombies even get to you.
If you can, it's better to hide, climb, and build instead of fight. It's better to make traps and let the traps do the work for you. Use weapons to defend yourself from afar. It's about keeping your distance instead of actually fighting them face-to-face.
You've been watching too much zombie shows...
Agreed, I would want to have a working knowledge of the language before going. Don't have to be anywhere near fluent, but at least want to be able to have basic conversations.
Which is strange because I don't feel the same way about Europe. I feel like I could easily visit Amsterdam without knowing Dutch. Not sure why it seems so different.
Yeah, same...
Oh, I see where you're coming from. For some reason it's the same for me and I'd say the only languages I feel like I would need to learn or at least know a bit of before entering the country would be: Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. Anywhere else, I feel like I would probably make it through with English.
Rainbowlicious because we would all
sacrifice us for her so this Angel can survive
Aww
Oh -- Ahem -- Yes I nearly forgot!
THANK YOU RAINBOWBLINK!!!
(also thank YOU, common for sharing the image!! its sooo wholesome I nearly did an audible 'aww' in the middle of the engineering library lmao)
You don't have to thank me though, it's no biggie
South Korea is on the list to visit someday.
But also the Netherlands. My family is originally from there (generations ago) but it would still be cool to see where I came from oh so long ago.
Ooh yeah, South Korea would be cool but it's not on my top list. I'd most likely just be there for the food and KPOP. I would want to learn the language and mannerisms first. I don't want to be considered "rude."
That sounds cool! My mom took an ancestry test and it was somewhere in Southern Africa but I can't remember where lol
i'm glad you liked it you can thank Rainbowlicious for basically doing the whole thing for me
Aww, you don't have to
i'm sorry, i'm still new to this
Aww, it's okay Just download the file and upload it as an attachment I know what you mean
I've never been to Europe, but I do want to visit sometime!
It's okay, neither have I but I would like to to someday!
Speaking of which, is there any place in the world that you've always wanted to go but couldn't/haven't? I always had an interest in Japan, Greece, and Brazil...
Seagulls? Not pelicans? I cant remember
:confused::confused::confused:
How in the world do you mix up seagulls and pelicans?
THASSSHOOOOCYYYYYUUUUTEEEE
OMGGG YESSS
I really wouldn't know what to do without it. I'll have to visit these places with cloudcover someday to see what it's like.
LMAO my state has lots of hills, rain, and trees
Funny thing, a friend of my dad lives in London now and she says it rains a lot there. I used to think you were Western European but idk why LMAO
This is actually soo cute
hmm. I can't seem to access it.
and then we go back to our 340 days of sun!
That's too much sun...
Thunderstorms are about 5-10 times a year, usually during June-July.
Micro-bursts happen about the same amount, usually during July-August
We usually only get 1 or 2 haboobs each year, usually in June or September
1st picture: Arizona thunderstorm, lots of rain, lots of wind, lots of lightning
2nd picture: a downpour (also called a micro-burst). Literally a wall of water deciding to dump on that area in the distance
3rd picture: we call it a haboob, or simpler a dust storm. It's a wall of dust. It's when things get so windy but there's no rain to keep all the dust down so it gets picked up and carried across the city
Wow... how often do you guys get those?
I'll just keep enjoying my sun. Also there's something powerful and epic about a desert monsoon downpour!
Woah...what is that?? It looks scary
