As much as I want NJZ to win, they have the worst lawyers. Their statement today shows a clear pivot (likely from realizing how weak the case was during the injunction hearing) and now they’re grasping at straws.
Just because the CEO and staff are all gone does not mean you didn’t sign a contract with the legal entity ADOR. There is nothing in the contract about keeping staff, and this will backfire. There is no way a court will set precedent that losing staff means breach of trust.
Um...this isn’t about just “losing staff.” It’s about the group being orphaned from the team they trusted, while being left with a management structure they explicitly say they can’t work with or feel unsafe under. That’s a different level.
So no, it’s not about “setting a precedent” that you can leave just because a manager changes it’s about recognizing when an entire working ecosystem is dismantled in a way that voids the original mutual trust and intent behind the contract.

I think NJZ lawyers did pretty well pointing out the essence of the issue...not the surface
Functioning without a team out of necessity doesn’t mean they trust or want that situation it just shows adaptability.
Even if Minji joined Source in 2017, the final group concept, team cohesion, artistic vision, and trust that led to debut were all created under MHJ's ADOR.
A trainee might start with one company but eventually align with a particular team or producer they grow to trust. It's not uncommon for idols to change teams or remain in training limbo until the right debut conditions are met.
So Minji’s early days with Source do not negate that her actual debut was driven by MHJ’s team and philosophy.Legally, just because someone can technically perform a duty doesn't mean the contractual and emotional relationship is intact.
It’s like saying, “You can do your job even if your boss emotionally abuses you, so what’s the problem?”
Plus, so it's widely rumored MHJ is still guiding them in the background which proves they’re still relying on that original team’s vision, not ADOR 2.0., the group might have tolerated those issues while MHJ was still in charge because there was a protective or corrective mechanism through her leadership.
Once that protective layer was removed and ADOR fell under new management (that reportedly told staff to ignore the girls), they may have reassessed their tolerance and reached a breaking point.
Also....
You don’t need a named clause to argue that the working relationship changed in a way that invalidates mutual trust or undermines the original terms. Courts look at:
1. Intent at the time of signing
2. Reasonable expectations
3. Material changes to how the contract is carried out
MHJ not being listed in the contract doesn’t mean her removal isn’t a valid point of contention, especially if she was the central creative and managerial figure for the group.
Also: the legal case is not just about isolated incidents, but the accumulation of issues and erosion of trust, especially under new leadership.

njz bout to be "Megan Markled" by the committed haters. Oh

bunnies really thought you can terminate a contract if you get your feefees hurt
If it were just ‘feefees,’ a court wouldn’t even hear the case.
Courts don’t waste time on purely emotional complaints. The fact that the case made it to an injunction hearing shows that there was a legal argument worth considering, even if NJZ didn’t win this round. Losing a temporary injunction doesn’t mean they lost the whole case it just means the bar for urgency wasn’t met.

Hybe did not spend $100M+ to debut Illit, that figure gets mixed up with the cost to buyout Belift. They definitely had the biggest budget but not that much
Le Sserafim's budget was around the same as NewJeans
Well how much was the R U Next show?
