seriously. The point of their live was to be as honest and open with us as possible. It's the members that want BTS to last a long time and be together for as long as possible, as JK puts it "BTS is forever".
For that to happen, they've got to take care of themselves, put themselves first as individuals in order to come back stronger as a group with even better music.
Their passion for music is not waning, it is growing. But what they need now, is a new direction for the group, hence the break. Even couples need to separate from time to time. It's just human nature.
Bts' path is unprecedented, don't expect them to die out in their 30s like the rest of kpop. They'll be like rock bands, bands that will last for decades, like Coldplay!

Hmmm, I don't think so. Anyways, time will tell. Maybe theyll drop a song or two in a few years, but no more full comeback /albums. Kinda understandable since they're all getting old and have other priorities in life. I just wished instead of the anthology album, it was an album full of new music since they'd be taking a hiatus as a group.
I think that's a really grim assumption. Like, Yoongi knew people would jump to conclusions hence he specifically clarified that they aren't disbanding when announcing the group is going on hiatus. They're moving on from past release schedules and are burnt out as a group- but they all voiced that they still are and want to be BTS in the future, they want to prolong BTS' existence which is why they're doing what's necessary for them to heal and find a new perspective for their music. They have a sincere love for music and them taking this path is the most sincere and mature thing to do.
Instead of constantly pumping out music at the expense of their health and creativity which could result in resentment in life, they're separating for a while to come back as a stronger group. BTS have always had an atypical trajectory compared to the average kpop group, why doubt them now when they've stressed that they will return?

they've already clarified it themselves, bts as group will shift focus to solo activities and music, the group won't be releasing ot7 albums for an indefinite time. but they'll still record run bts from time to time hence we'll still see ot7, just in a different capacity than we've been used to these last 9 years

I'll say something quick because I'm still navigating through a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions.
Like Joon said, kpop's system demands that you're productive and churn out a mass amount of content and that has detrimentally affected them, I'm glad that they're doing what is best for each of them and taking a step back. The view of the world changes massively when you take few steps back.
The fact that they're so brutally honest and sat armys down and explained everything in their own words instead of relying on a company statement or let the media run wild with speculations like they did with previous breaks means that they're committed to each other and armys. They will be back and will return with a vengeance and armys will be their biggest backing. I hope they know we love them more than anything and they have our full blessing.
And for the ugly kpop fans lurking and celebrating, BTS ain't going anywhere. 7 solo careers just means that the top 10 year end charts will be full of BTS and yall will never escape our wrath

imagine being op and the biggest victory of the week is creating neuron depleting threads with obsessed takes on BTS, it's so pathetic. BTS is thriving and no artist in history has a career where they haven't faced setbacks or didn't exceed expectations on every facet- we've seen this redundant take in between 2019's BWL & 2020 Dynamite. Rest assured, BTS will be the last men standing!

this is really getting ridiculous
when he posts a pic at the white house are they gonna say he's taking a jab at GD for not being invited or what
"how dare he ostracize a legendary idol like that, what a bully, all 7 of them!"
