This negated by the fact they have way more songs collecting streams. Additionally, BLACKPINK had a bigger streaming year in 2023 than they did in 2022, and even back then, NewJeans just BARELY missed being the top girl group and that was also because their discography is still small, especially back then.
In 2023 they were still doing well because they released the album in late 2022. It’s still amazing how many people still stream Blackpink even without new releases; 1.5b without a single/mini/album is really extraordinary.

I don’t think fans should support everything their “idols” do. And that comprehends music and personal life.
At the same time I don’t think fans should turn to haters just because of something they don’t like. In this specific case people can choose to not support her recent release without sending her hate.
