But I believe many only check the OP/ED of the anime they're watching, they don't delve into J-pop nor J-rock.

Anime songs usually didn't have an official version on YouTube before YouTube Music. And even with YTM they're very hard to find. You will usually search for One Piece Opening 15, instead of Hiroshi Kitadani ウィーキャン!, so you will never find the original song. So the views are scattered everywhere.

Also, the fact that the full opening/ending usually are released after either the anime has ended or the op/ed changed doesn't help on promotion.

Furthermore, anime in the west date as back as the 80's. Back then people didn't even have internet to check the anime songs.

First time was Boys with luv at Sydney airport in 2019. Tho the weird thing was that they edited out BTS's parts out of the songs so it was literally just Halsey part on repeat

That's true, tho it is still very impressive that its up there in the 100mil copies group because this manga has only started publishing in 2016 where as the other manga's in the same group are usually from the late 20th century.

Yea the manga sold 100mill copies, each copy would be around $5-6. That's like $500-600 million right there. Imagine one piece tho, nearly 500million copies. Thats $2.5-3 billion total revenue right there from one series. Another level.

Here's the budget of the Movie I guess, minus that from the amount of money the box office made and you've got the profit.

So I was just looking around and found that the demon slayer movie has nearly made $400 million dollars just within Asia. So i though what if I compared it to the amount of money which K-pop companies make and the results are surprising

Honestly thought that the K-pop industry would catch up to the Anime industry due to the huge hallyu wave but this just shows it still has a long way.

Edit: Since I can't do math as people pointed I'll just say that it still is impressive that an anime movie like this was able to garner that much revenue which is comparable to the biggest K-pop company. Have a good night peeps.
