As a fanfic writer myself, I was going to defend them, only to realize that I have no defense. I can't say that I only write about fictional characters (I do write about them, I just write about real people too). I can't say it's amazing (I make plenty of typos all the time). I can't say it's realistic (it never is). At least I admit it and its always child friendly? I guess I have that going for me.

Sus. Also with explanation.
Kidding. There's nothing wrong with fanfiction imo. It's just that some are 'too' much like
Some x Reader stories. I read character fanfics from time to time though

It's not THAT bad! I know. As someone who reads a ton of them, I know what you mean.
Oh no, please don't remind me of back when I actually used to read those.
Proof anyone can change.
I only really write character fanfics. Occasionally I'll add in my own characters I made because why not, but I never base them off of me and I try to avoid making them Mary Sues. I actually working on a series of one-shots right now. I only made one at first and was going to leave it at that, but people kept on telling me I should make more follow up ones and even gave me ideas, so I really only have to do the actual writing part myself, so now I kind of have to see those through.

I died.
Literally...the same person keeps making accounts that keep getting banned but every time they make threads about Jungkook hooking up with some famous female idol. And whenever someone calls it fiction, they say this exact same thing.
I think you'll probably see them pop up again under a different username...

I agree that you can be a fanfic writer without being cringe or weird about it.
I used to be a really big fan of fanfiction espcially when they were really well-written. I'm not a huge of shipping people with other characters but as long as they're not the real people, I don't mind it. What I do mind is the shipping real people with other real people and doing those y/n POV writings with other real people.
I personally like making building upon stories in music videos since I got into KPOP. Fanfic can cross a line and that's when it becomes cringy.
