  • Because that is what they are. Id you want to be more specific, then they are a Japanese Kpop idol, but still a Kpop idol. When Kpop idols like AleXa who is from Oaklahoma goes to perform in the U.S, it's the same thing. She is still a Kpop idol and is promoted as such. Kpop is the category of music that they fall under, not their nationalities.

  • Because k-pop is better.

  • They like kpop's worldwide appeal better. Jpop only worth if you want to be popular in Japan only.

  • maybe cause its a really saturated market. theres a million different groups and a lot of them have 15+ members. hard to stand out and become a top group and even when they do they have to split their earnings with all the other members. and then when they reach 25+ they are forced to graduate and are completely forgotten about 9 out of 10 times.

    This.

Plus many Japanese kpop idols are kpop fans. They want to follow their dreams. Example: Treasure's Mashiho, Asahi, and Haruto. And there are also mixed Japanese-Korean idols (aespa Giselle) and Zainichi idols (Ladies' Code RiSe, Treasure Yoshi).
