Does anyone physically cringe when some user takes a pann thread with 70 upvotes as proof that their fave is "huge domestically in Korea"?

I really don't have the heart to tell them that the Knetizens who made the post are probably just their own fanbase, it doesn't mean that the whole Korea is in love with them . Legit it's no different from any international fans upvoting/like/rting their own faves because of course everyone would. Not people sharing those posts like "yeah it girl…

OP
IMO taking ANY Pann comments as some kind of confirmation of "what most Koreans think" is a fail. I get that we international fans are hard pressed to know what actual Koreans think and we sometimes see this as a way to get at that bit of insight, but all of these sites translating them into English are well known for their having biases as well, selectively picking and choosing to support whatever narrative they are going for at the moment.
I know it's tempting to want to believe it esp when it supports how you feel, but we really need to think that through. You think companies do mediaplay? Welcome to the playground.
