Why do fans blame "public losing interest in idols" everytime their faves underperform in everything?

  • Why do fans blame "public losing interest in idols" everytime their faves underperform, when the evidence shows that there is still substantial interest in certain idols?

Anytime their faves don't do well in the charts - "well the public don't care about idols anymore, so it's not that big a deal" "the company is targeting for the international audience"

When their faves don't get to go on major variety shows - "well the company likes to focus on webcontent for their fanbase"

When their faves get bad ratings when they do go on variety shows - "well Knowing Bros viewership demographics is more into actors and trot singers"

Plenty of popular idols still trending very well in recent years, from Brave Girls to Oh My Girl, as well as the resurgence of 2nd gen idol groups and the return of their variety appearances such as 2PM, T-ara, Mamadol, BTOB, etc. It aint the public's fault that your faves aint that hot, or that don't get invited onto big shows.

  • Idol groups are doing really well again so this can't be a excuse anymore

  • People only say that when their own biases arent doing that great on Korean charts.

But now that so many K-pop groups and artists are charting high, that excuse can't be used anymore.
