I really love this concept! Even though I'm a big fan of Kingdom and I was expecting probably a lot, they managed to exceed my expectations :angryr: Just watching this MV is making me really happy, such a beautiful piece of art :pepelove1::pepe-excited::pepemusic:

I know the title of this thread is "first listen", but actually I've listened to this song a few times already... :sweatr:

I guess it's maybe not for everyone's liking, but I truly think anyone should give them a chance and check at least this one song<3

  • Intro: Palace - intro is a good introduction to the whole concept and story of this album. I'm excited about Korean traditional music inspired songs very much. The very ending of this intro we can hear at a beginning of the MV, as I can recognize so far.

  • Ascension - I'm obsessed with those traditional instruments' sounds :omgr::omgr: The chorus is catchy and easy to hum. I love how their voices are harmonising, very satisfying to listen to! The title song is powerful as expected from the group which shows stories of different kingdoms. It's definitely a favourite for me <3

  • Illusion - wow, I wasn't expecting a retro-inspired song! :lover1: I adore this disco-like sound. I know it's a popular trend in k-pop, but it's one of my favorites ones, for some reason I'm never bored with it. Another favourite track found ^^ It's actually very nice the minialbum explores different music genres. Anyway, this song is going to my playlist right now.

  • The Song of Dann (Promise) - a stunning and charming ballad. Even though I'm not a type of ballad fan, this one really has caught my attention. It completes very well the title song with a delicate instrumental in traditional-inspired style. It feels like a good ending and summary to the minialbum. I will be coming back to this song a lot, I can feel it! :pepelove2::pepelove2:
