Voltage should have been itzy's main korean comeback song?

    I still feel like it would've been shat on tbh

    its a definite curveball. Voltage definitely serves a lot in terms of individual embellishments but overall it doesn't compete as much against loco in terms of energy; it uses sass and styling rather than itzy's korean song's power and driving beats.


    disclaimer, this is just imho, not solid evidence backed hypothesis.

    If they made a Korean comeback now they would have got smashed by Gidle, further exposing them to claims that they've declined.

    I feel like ITZY are on a downward spiral on Korean charts that only a hit on the level of Tomboy would be able to get them out of.

    Well that's the thing, I'm not sure if the issue is purely whether or not the song has a "wider" appeal or not because honestly people will look for any excuse to make ITZY their punching bag or whatever.


    Though, in terms of whether not Knetz themselves would like it more and if it would perform better in charting, I honestly can't say. I'm not great at predicting those things. Maybe it would've performed better, but I feel like it would be a very moderate difference rather than a smash hit.


    But that's just partially my gut feeling. I'm not claiming to know everything here.

    It's a good song, but one that people will get bored of quickly imo. It's safe and generic Itzy.


    Reception/charting-wise, their songs (outside of Mafia) are not the problem.

    Hahaha no. Voltage was Itzy at their mediocre worst. The music video looked stunning, the girls looked stunning, the song would drag them back down a level after Loco just helped them climb up. They can't compete with other groups with music like this...

    Yes, the MV and the song were far better than Loco
