Why couldn't ice cream become as big as bts english songs?

Because Blackpink isn’t as famous as BTS is in America

It just wasn't korea's. It also did not help hylt was released a bit earlier and lovesick girls a month later so they overshadowed IC as the main BP song.

200 millions digital index (?) is still a lot, don't think anyone other than BTS has gotten more for an english song (korean artists).

I dunno about yall but I feel that BP far outclasses Selena Gomez and it ended up sounding quite bland for BP songs

Plus Because Selena Gomez was the limiting factor, it felt like BP was constantly holding back punches. It felt like it was that one supergroup that had to pick up the slack of the team member that never did much.

No hate to selena but like she seemed like a wooden warship in a fleet of aircraft carriers.

It's not Blinks fav song, in their ranking lists it usually in the last places.

There was no big promo and no performances, song was released and Selena was the one who tried to promote it, no big effort from YG/Interscope other than 1st time BP is on spotify playlist banner and some radio itws mostly listened by fans. At least the song was send to radio so fans could request it.

Let's hope if they finally have their 1st group solo single they will have more than their usual 1 US show/radio itws promo but after what happened with Money (sent late to radios, only radio itws) I'm not optimistic.

Blinks don't vibe with cute songs, they want more badass concepts for BP like D4 or HYLT

I think even casual fans like badass black pink way more.

It’s the worst song in their discography. It made it on a lot of lists for worst songs of 2020 even outside kpop.

No one wants to see blackpink singing get the bag with the cream if you know what I mean. We do know what they mean and it's a bit gross. BTSs english songs are very mediocre but they're also sexless which means parents approve and it furthered their boyband agenda internationally.

With icecream it didn't help that there were such major fandom tantrums over rose and jennie not getting the majority of the lines that blinks tried to turn back time with a do-over. When only a quarter of the fandom supports a song how can anyone else be expected to? though like every english kpop song in existence except love talk, it just. wasn't. very. good.

Because their fans weren't starved and it was really cringey.
