Deep down, I want to gatekeep my faves

  • One of the groups I'm stanning occasionally blows up on twitter or tiktok and I...kinda hate it? Of course I want them to be successful but at the same time I want the fandom to remain small you know? Like whenever I see comments from non-stans it's like they are being defiled? Because of this whenever they do something I always wish deep down that it wouldn't blow up or go viral. I'm so anxious for their next comeback because I don't want it to blow up too much. I know I sound like an asshole but I can't really control the emotions I feel. It's so frustrating, I can't understand why I feel this way. Anyone else feels this way?

  • okay we get it jeez :angryr:

  • didnt know I accidentally posted this multiple times I had an acc here for some time now but it's my first time posting

  • maybe one of the factors for this irrational feeling is bigger fandom=more toxic

Understandable. It's nice to have that peace. More popularity means more drama, more haters, and more toxic fans within the fandom.

  • I get it. Small is sometimes better. But if it happens and they become popular, try to enjoy it.

  • If you're talking about Billie because of the viral fancam, I really wouldn't worry...

  • don't worry, having semi viral song on tiktok or twitter will slow down and forgotten in 2 or 3 months, your fave will need a long way to go to have a huge large fandom to be called toxic

  • I feel the same way for BTS as well. Too competition for a concert ticket. Hoping they become nugu someday, so I can have a chance of grabbing that ticket :-)
