Hyoyeon closes Instagram comment section after receiving malicious comments from Chinese netizens for posting Hanbok

  • How are these chinese people even allowed to use a banned social media platform? Something tells me these are paid CCP propaganda warriors. They got to be paid if they are taking the effort to join a banned platform in their country and their own oppressive authorities are okay with it.

  • Can you explain the reason behind this reaction? /gen

It all started when a Chinese youtuber(?) I think claimed hanbok to be a part of Chinese culture and then the issue blew up from both sides. The current rage that is going on is bcoz recently in the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics, a participant from Chinese side showed up wearing hanbok which added fuel to the fire among Koreans and it seems like Chinese are taking Korean celebrities wearing hanbok as a jab against them so they're sending hate in return.

  • Okay, my bad for assuming wrong. Since she posted this photo after the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics so I thought she might have done it intentionally like other celebrities who are posting pics of them wearing hanbok.

I get it. Once again the colonialism talk.

This reaches a next level in China-Japan-Korea.

    Thank you for explaining!
