I'm definitely a uaena but I haven't liked a few recent title tracks including Celebrity. I think it could have sounded really good but for the past few years kpop has been on this sort of noisy trend without a lot of form or function and even my queen IU hasn't been immune.

Then you'll have releases like Lee Suhyun's Alien which is a BOP and people have never heard it. If a popular GG did this song, it would go viral. I hate it here.

"all these groups with international success"?? Where? Why'd they care about these acts when they've BTS getting Grammy noms and doing even better than some major Western acts? International success of BTS and maybe BP level does effect Korean charting.

It comes down to brand.

NCT have been putting out weird music with odd changes in songs for a while but the public never cared. Bring along a group who get buzz for their visuals and concept with similar music and they're all over it. Each of these had the same big 3 privilege as well.

Yup I meant gp. And I won't be surprised if a huge portion of fandom left too. They've definitely gotten more popular internationally after fancy that's why they're still peaking on international charts and sales. But Korea has abandoned them.
