Why is going back to your home country where you’ll be treated 10x better and will gain 10x more money considered a bad thing in Kpop…?

  • I cant everytime I see chinese idols being called pigeons

Meiqi and Xuanyi had no future in Korea literally none and they became richer than 95% of Kpop idols in China… They were both in the top 10 of the most influential Cpop women of last year and Meiqi’s first solo sold 1M digital copies in less than half an hour

Meiqi before her home wrecking scandal and Xuanyi are A-list… that’s like asking IU to go promote in the US forever where she’s a nobody instead of Korea where she’s one of the most relevant celebs by far…

Same with Winwin stop calling him a pigeon ffs he has no future in Korea but a very bright one in his country where he’ll be treated well

Xiaoting from Kep1er… seeing how Fu Yaning went from a nobody to even getting a ROTY award and magazine covers in China just because she appeared on GP999 you bet your ass she’s going back to her country after 2 years of career in a successful girl group… and she’s right

Many idols use being an idol as a stepping stone to get into acting, why is it wrong for some Chinese idols to use it as a stepping stone? That’s NORMAL you guys would do that too

  • oh also I forgot to say

Hitomi and Nako from Iz*one went back to Japan didnt they

and they were RIGHT to do so don’t get me wrong but nobody’s calling them pigeons

Hitomi as a whole ass career rn… Nako too… from low ranking AKB girls to centers of their unit and widely respected in the franchise

  • i think knetz see it more like "you come here in korea to learn how to be an idol (since hallyu is such a big deal globally), a korean company spends money on you (maybe even tax money from koreans since k industry gets subsidy of the kgovernment) & then you go back to your home country as a established idol, invested in by koreans, to make money with the knowledge you got in korea"?

maybe that combined with the fact that the c idols that go back to china start following the propaganda of ccp, which often goes against korea/hallyu wave.

  • It's not wrong for the individual at all. I think that kpop fans just want them to stay closer to the other members and Korea because that is what the fans are used to. It's a case of selfishness

    that’s plain stupid

first of all they refund the company like any other idol there’s trainee debt for a reason

i also doubt knetz thought as far as tax money LOL i think you just thought this far. on all posts they’re just angry because they leave and don’t come back, but from the individual’s point of view it makes perfect sense

let’s not act like chinese idols are treated equally in korea

foreign idols make less than korean idols and are subject to xenophobia and racism often

    who would want to stay?

it’s not that they start following the propaganda in most cases they just do not have a choice

if your weibo account has a certain amount of followers you post the copy and paste

  • why are you acting like this is MY view on the topic?? i just said why i think knetz may dislike c idols in kpop groups & when these idols eventually leave for china. ofc, i think it's the smartest choice for these idols to go back and reap the benefits in their home country instead of staying in a place where they will always be treated less than korean idols.

The tax money is literally a comment i saw on a knetizen post?? not saying all of knetz think this way, but i have read enough of them complaining about "k industry/korea investing in these c idols, just for them to leave with what they learned/established for their home country". not saying it makes any sense, just what i saw people comment on this topic.

also, did i say anything about these c idols willingly following ccp?? learn to read before you get defensive. Koreans (like others) don't like the ccp, so seeing an idol that once belonged to their country "choosing money over morality & following the ccp" isn't something they will like. they don't care if these people are pretty much forced if they want a carreer in china.

I hope they don't find out about the existence of universities.

  • Do u think if these foreing idols didn't debut in kpop they'd still be this much popular in home country? No

They gain popularity due to their kpop debut, after contract ends most of them don't even renew with Korean agency because of their current huge popularity In hometown.
