Would it work to say prayers

Well, there are other religions that believe in god(s) and stuff outside of Christianity.

Whether it works... I don't personally think it's easy to determine whether or not prayers work in a general sense, regardless of what religion you belong to, but I'm sure that if you belong to a non Christian religion and pray, that's fine. Like you'll still be able to get the comfort and ease of mind from that of course.

Or if you don't even believe in god, but pray you could get a similar comfort. I'm not sure about other religions, but from a Christian perspective, God would want you to rely on him and he sees everyone as his children, even non-christian/non-believers, therefore I think it would please him and still be acceptable.
