I actually think military service is a good idea and should stay mandatory. My late father served in the Korean war and volunteered to go and said it was the best experience of his life even though he wasn't on the front line, his job was as a signalman. A bit like Radar in MASH. He was trained in the Australian and British Army. I have always been so proud of him and he had a collection of medals too. I have talked to Koreans online and they are grateful for him serving to give them the freedom they now have. The idols who have already served such as SJ and SHINee have said it was the best experience and character building and are glad they enlisted. I feel it is as well and changes their life for the better. Yes, two years might be a long time for both groups and fans, but the loyal ones will wait like I did when I followed SJ. I come from a family with a rich military background and that is why I feel this way.
