What do you think of 'ACAB'?

For people who don't know ACAB means all cops are bastards.

Been wanting to ask this for a long time

the police is a corrupted system, often people with basic sense and humanity are fired and people abusing their power are not persecuted

so if you're aware of that yet still participate ...yeah think it through

that I don't think the state should be allowed to hold a monopoly on violence in the first place is a discussion for another day

The state needs police to have a monopoly on violence ideally for the sake of order, if there are no police then the citizens should be allowed weapons such as guns easily for self-defense.

Isn't it "All cops are bad"? Anyway, the point of this saying is to indicate that all cops, as great people as they may be, are essentially "bad" because the law enforcement system is systemically oppressive.

I feel like it's a very problematic thing to say because it dehumanizes cops and makes their job much more dangerous than it needs to be. There are far better and more effective ways to say "the law enforcement system is corrupt and oppressive" without putting anyone in danger.

"ACAB" just seems like a very "teenage angst" way to get that point across, so obviously, it's hard to gain bipartisan support with such a divisive slogan.

cops are often not treating people as humans though, and they're the ones with weapons and who can get away with murder
