  • ( I do not count the solo albums of BP members separately.)

KPop female acts - Highest first week sales (only the highest of each act is counted.)

    BlackPink The Album 689K

    IZOne Oneric Diary 389K

    Twice More & More 332K

(aespa SAVAGE - expected to exceed 300K)

    IU Lilac 278K.

At the end of 2019 , incredibly, IU had held that record at around 147,000 with Blueming. (There were conflicting theories that Twice's Feel Special had sold 154k, but a later table showed IU in the top 20 first week sales list while not showing Twice.)

A singer who was NOT relevant outside of Korea had held the record, as late as February 2020 when all the WIzones bought Izone's album like hell (although IU humbled IZOne with her freak OST in the digitals).

And then the first week sales exploded.

Aespa will be the first group to break 300k in the first week, although Itzy had sold 259k with Crazy in Love just a couple weeks ago .

KPop's Senior Singer is dragging her old body to release another single, since she has realized the new generation is now formidable and wants to teach them a lesson. However, if aespa's Savage beats the Senior Singer's Strawberry Moon, then a definite change of generations has occurred, which might be why the Senior SInger is not disclosing the release date since she might want to wait till Savage begins to slow down.

Well don't be in a hurry to render her senile yet.. remember the proposal that she will match Cho Yong Pil and grab another SOTY when she is 63. Though I don't think 'physical' albums will be a thing till then.

Physicals are the great anachronism of Kpop.
