Taehyun said:"Hoseok hyung...."

  • This is cute :claps:

"I personally sent a message to hoseok hyung and received one from him!"

I'm not really familiar with Korean honorifics culture and so on. It's clearly that TXT call BTS as 'hyung' in private, but in formal occasions especially in front of camera, it changes into 'sunbaenim'. Is that something like unwritten rules?

I remember how Yeonjun being sulky on vlive because Hyuka keep calling him 'Yeonjunsshi' instead hyung, and he said "there're only moa and us in here." :whatb:

kind of. as per my understanding, sshi= mr. (soobin refers everyone using 'shi' on musicbank). i kind of use this with my friends as sarcasm lol( we have a similar honorific culture)

sunbaenim= seniors again, formal (some of enyhypen members, i dont know their names, referred to them as sunbaenim when they were older than txt because txt debuted first. while refered them informally in tweets)

hyung is informal and used when close. TXT calls bts hyungs candidly or privately

    Thanks :lover3:

I understand majority of honorific things. It's just funny how mad Yeonjun with 'sshi' thingy :angryr:

So it's kinda like for formal occasion, and for someone who you don't close enough to be called by name or hyung, right? :yesr:

tbh i can understand him, i personally don't like being called using honorific pronouns, i'd have a similar reaction idk why it just bothers me especially when my freinds calls me like that (while others are usually okay with it) :nervousk:

Yup, it feels like there's a certain distance to be called with honorifics in private time (yeonjun really treating Vlive as private time with "there're only moa and us", that's cute) :teeheek:

It's like, are you treating me as stranger? That kind feeling :nervousk:
