Electricity failure, 560K city with no electricity for 4 hours

    The German city Dreseden had a electricity failure. Over 300.000 households in and around the city had no electricity for about 4 hours. Train, Tram, Wifi, radio network and more wasn't working in that time. According to previous what was allready known, the cause was a malfunction in a 110-kilovolt system in a substation of Dresden's district called Zschachwitz. The cause is still unclear.


    Acording to the police and fire deperatment over 270 people did an emergency call in the meantime, it's said more people tried to call but couldn't due to not having a working radio network at that time. 24 of the calls alone happend due to people who got stuck in elevators. In another district of the city a public swimmingpool was malfunctioning and the whole place got flooded.


    Around an hour after the city of Dresden was without electricity people from towns around also had an electricity failure for multiple minutes.
