Display MoreI was thinking about this the other day.
I mean after that renewal in 2018, BTS have released only 1 album per year.
2018 : LY : Answer
2019 : MOTS : Persona
2020 : MOTS7
I know they released 'BTS Soundtrack' in 2019, 'Dynamite' & BE in 2020, 'Butter' & PTD in 'Butter' CD in 2021 but these look more like side projects. You getting what I am saying?
They released PERSONA and went on a tour, they released MOTS7 and had planned a huge stadium tour spanning 6 months and probably would have extended that tour as well if not for Covid 19. If not for Covid 19 wouldn't have got English singles and BE.
My point is I think when BTS renewed their contract in 2018, I think they decided to release only 1 album a year and go ona staidum tour (notice that they have only booked stadium shows since the renewal) then release 1 side project in the same year to keep the cash flowing and the numbers raking up.
This is just my speculation. But this means we are due for an album release this year so manifest 'BTS Album in October 2021'.
We only have one year of data(2019) following the trend so I don't think we can make any inferences.
Without covid though, since they are a big touring act and with mots era ending they did have plans to tour a lot and not releasing an album. And maybe they would have continued it further into the years or released albums that completed an era(2 + 1 yearly) and then toured. I don't think it is related to their contract. Rn maybe they are contemplating on their next era, because it does not look like they will release an album this year to me.
But we'll see, I really hope yours is right. I really want an album from them
