The trend of bulk buying then forcefully donating physical albums to facilities that don't need them is becoming a real problem. Those who bulk buy don't know where to throw their albums so why don't these artists' companies -who are aware of the bulk buyers- don't use it as an opportunity to stock second-hand albums? The bulk buyers can safely "donate" it there and benefit their fav artists more. Or is that illegal or something?
Why cant the Kpop companies make their own album "dumpster"?

better than dumping it on poor kids taking away their opportunity for real donations because their shelves are filled with useless albums thinking they're doing them a favor. IDK they can make it as a second-hand sale or something and as for charts they just can make a different category for it if it's about achievements rights.

I think it would be illegal for companies to do that. Donating albums for the sake of discarding them is a huge problem. The fans should resell them or actually donate it to fans who are unable to buy them.

like someone said above it becomes an image problem...
the shelters and donees of such albums should come out and shame the companies (not idols)companies whose albums are being donated and call them out for it...

Itโs the fans who do it, why would companies bear this burden? And these fans are constantly shamed but nothing changes

i dunno the companies might accept responsibility for their return/reuse/recycle maybe?

Thatโs their bread and butter I doubt these companies will acknowledge that. Unless the Govt steps in to make rules for wastage and stuff

i agree but i'm not sure you know or remember what happened to ywy3 and the milk/youghart voting fiasco... but the chinese government stepping in pretty fast and put an end to that but that might be overboard...
essentially the problem is that the companies are selling a product that contains only certain things that a fan wants... photocards and not the rest so if the donees of the bulk albums create an issue for the companies then rather than have their image ruined they might do something otherwise the gov might get involved
again this is all hypothetical of course

Yeah, the government doing something is the best scenario but this is worse publicity for these companies than them taking responsibilities (+benifiting from it). Can't these ent companies all gather and agree on doing the same like when they usually implement something new? kmca for example. Just wondering...

That would be admitting that bulk buying is a problem and they're the ones responsible for it. It's also admitting their product is trash. It's bad publicity.
They could still put a disclaimer in the cdโs for buyers to dump them at their location - and reap the benefits (and maybe resell them)
Sorted!

Everything would be easier if they also sold the photocards/goodies like pokemon cards blisters with a digital code for an album. Then fans would only buy each physical version once and then no waste of physical CDs, jewel case and photobooks they don't need more of, because they just buy more copies for the collectibles anyway..
Nah that will affect the sales badly. Why would they do that? It's like saying why don't gacha games change to paying the items we want to get.
Edit: oh I get it now. The code thing is actually good if it could work. Because songs in physical albums are unused lol.

but the only way they will do something is if there is enough pressure from the orphanages or other donees of the albums enough so that there is mounting public pressure that results in the gov (either making a comment or even threatening) to create a law...
