Is this a popular or unpopular opinion, and does it make sense?

  • This is what I think: Even though Korea is relatively homophobic and LGBT idols and celebrities may not come out publicly due to backlash, that doesn't mean some idols who may be straight can't run into drama. Basically, idols are told as trainees to appeal to as many people as possible, so they don't want to upset/disappoint/offend LGBT fans either. I formed this opinion after reading a conversation on Reddit. After reading what I just said and reading these screenshots, do you think this makes sense, and is it an unpopular opinion? I don't mean to say the problems a straight idol could have are equivalent to what a gay idol faces, but that a straight idol may also have reasons to not openly state their sexuality because of fans and having to look available as part of their job.

  • I haven't encountered this but I'll keep a lookout. thanks for the tip.

  • About Heechul, that post is very cynical. It's not that he never denied gay rumours before, he actually did, but at a certain point he felt like if he keeps denying it vehemently he'll offend lgbt people because it could make it seem like it was something bad, that's why he was denying it vehemently. So he stopped denying the rumours.

I don't know why anyone should go and make their own cynical theories and twists instead of just taking his word for it. He didn't give anyone a reason to disbelieve him.
