How Exactly Do You Get Akorns?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm new here and from what I've read from other posts, you get akorns from posting as well as replying to existing posts/threads. Is that true? I've replied more than 4 times but it seems as if my akorn count isn't going up and is stuck at 4?

It says you have the same number of akorns as posts, so you got them. It could be that you just needed to reload or go to another page first.
