i have a serious question

if you love someone, it wouldn't matter why unless they hurt someone.

get confirmation it wasn't a harmful reason of deportation, then move forward.

if you don't trust them enough for that to be enough, the relationship doesn't exist &/or isn't strong enough to survive this issue and you would probably need to move on.

lastly, just my opinion, it's best to decide on your own since you have much more relevant information people from the internet may not have available.
