I am simply gathering ideas to give my starting direction and I will not use you in my paper unless you specifically say that I can.

  • I don't know the real answer. There are people just like me who I like and am attracted to, platonically of course. There are also a few who are very very different from me that I get along with.

A friend of mine is very innocent and sweet and girly, while I am blunt, definitely not innocent and tomboyish. But my best friend is brutally honest and loyal, some characteristics we share. My boyfriend is honest, thoughtful and quiet, also some things we share at times. I've noticed that the people I surround myself with the most are usually people who aren't the complete opposite in all ways.

But I would say that opposites do attract. If I wanted to talk to someone who is exactly, 100% like me, I would talk to myself. I appreciate my friends and loved ones because they are different, and that attracts me.

  • I think opposites do attract. I'm quite shy irl & I'd like my man to be strong and confident. I need someone capable of protecting my future family and someone bold enough to confront others wrongdoings.

  • I do think that they attract. I’m a very bubbly and lively person, but I want someone who is the exact opposite of me. I just think that having someone who is not the same as I am is very interesting. I guess learning and exploring more about a person can be very intriguing. I’m attracted to a lot of different people who are in no way like how I am. Most people around me are completely different from me, and I really love that! Being different is something that I think everyone should be proud of! There is only one you! Sorry, I’m getting off topic lmfao-

    I think opposites attract 100%!

  • They certainly do. I am an introvert, my partner is extremely extroverted yet we’ve been together for twenty years. It’s incredible how we’ve lasted this long. He’s into blokey things like amateur radio and military stuff. The only thing we’ve got in common is we both love cats. He is a good man who has put up with a lot from me and is my rock. He’s also the father of our daughter.

P.S. I think most people know who this is as I’ve mentioned it before.

Plus my parents were opposites yet were married for 50 years. It was till death do us part for them. They were wonderful parents.

  • i used to date someone. i'm the romantic type, they were not. every time i would do something sweet and nice, they would be like "cringeeee" and it would make me feel terrible about myself. i ended that relationship and am now focused on finding someone who matches my love language. so no, opposites do not attract. i wish people would stop pushing this idea. its best to be with someone who's compatible with you.

  • Nope. I'm insensitive as fuck so if the person I date is extremely sensitive, it would not work out.
