End of KPop's independence - it will now be just an appendage of Pop

  • It seems the importance of Golden is not sunk in yet.

Latin Pop as we know it is largely controlled by US interests, since the local companies are weak and lack distribution networks.

Most Latin Pop singers worth their salt are signed in one foreign agency or another. Even Hybe has a Latin music division, although what came out of there is not clear.

    KPop will become like that.

Foreigners will get have the say about how 'KPop' will progress, with the locals having no power really.

The inability of the Korean companies to cut their ties with Korea led to this. They should have ignored Korea altogether, ignore whatever the increasingly unimportant Korean fans might say and should have prepared for this.

I see all KPop companies doomed. They will eventually be all bought out by foreign interests, who will produce 'KPop' designed for foreigners but in their images.

Golden was the decisive victory. There is no coming back from this.

The signer who contributed the most to make the companies having to pay attention to Korea has now retired from competition. She will have a 'fan event' where she will sing very few songs, showing she won't compete with this new wave. She had an edge against Korean companies, but against this foreign intrusion who does not care whether she is the Senior Singer or not, she is powerless. It is likely that she will turn into 'adult contemporary music', in other words, trot.

KPop as we know it will continue to persist in Japan and some other Asian countries, but it will increasingly become irrelevant as foreign-made 'KPop' becomes the mainstream.

  • K-pop is doomed because Korea's population is dropping faster than a pebble tied to a mountain. Because they're not having kids and their refusal to accept larger numbers of immigrants, their industry was doomed no matter what.

The idea that K-pop companies needed to cut ties with Korea doesn't make much sense since they will be controlled by any market they try to enter in with their demographic reality.

That was inevitable but the Kpop companies could have led the transition themselves but their greed blind them from reality

Recognition from Korea does not amount to anything
