Well... I like STYLE and I enjoy listening to city pop, and I do also like this combination.

I'm a sucker for city pop. I am surprised companies don't try to make city pop remixes for certain songs. I guess the genre is niche when it comes to kpop

It's city pop, it was popular Japanese music that used a mixture of r&b, disco, funk, and a few other genres. It had a resseruction in the late 2010s I believe. Even the musican the weeknd sampled a popular city pop song for one of his biggest tracks

There's a Korean/Japanese soloist that made a ton of music in this style

Here are some groups in n kpop making city popish songs. In kpop they usually have these type of tracks as b-sides and rarely we do get them as title tracks

I love City Pop, especially the original 1980s Japanese stuff - maybe someone should make a thread over in the Jpop section, I have a few hidden gems to recommend (stuff you don't see on the big playlists).
