I do have a photocard holder, and a lanyard which I forgot to mention.

Okay to be honest it's probably the lanyard clip (or whatever it's called) that makes the photocard holder feel tough:

it's an acrylic standing holder, it's not meant to be a lanyard. If anything you may be able to put a little metal ring around it like you see on keychains, and try to attach it to something that way. It's mostly meant to be a decorative desktop thing. Most people don't really do lanyards they do keychains.
I suggest looking on etsy for hand-crafted lanyards.
