What do you think about the 13 Keys to the White House?

Professor Allan Lichtman says that when 6 keys are false, the White House party retains the White House. Otherwise, they're predicted to lose.

It has been right since 1984, except for two presidential elections: that of 2000 and that of 2024.

He called the 2000 presidential election a "stolen election," and he marked Al Gore as the winner because he had 5 keys marked False.

He predicted that Kamala Harris would win, as she had 4 keys marked False.

Later, he declared that Kamala Harris lost the 2024 presidential election due to these unprecedented events:

1. the Democrats "trashing" their sitting president (Joe Biden) after the first presidential debate,
2. Their eventual nominee (Kamala Harris) did not participate in any primaries or caucuses, and
3. Disinformation during the election cycle being at an unprecedented scale.

He refused to follow his own keys due to his personal biases. His system might actually work if applied by neutral observers.

He was wrong in 2000, but that was all because of SCOTUS. Otherwise, Al Gore would have won as predicted.

"My system is based on history and yes, history could conceivably change but you wouldn’t know it until afterward," Lichtman said.

And no, he is not biased. His 13 Keys to the White House system is based on the 1860 United States presidential election. He has predicted as many Republicans and as many Democrats before they became president since the 1980s (before Reagan's re-election).

His prediction was wrong this year, probably due to the unprecedented move of a President dropping out after having already won the primaries, third party candidates (especially RFK Jr. who polled at 22% of the vote while he was running as a Democrat), not enough time for Kamala Harris to campaign (she had 3 full months to campaign: August, September, and October), etc.
