The City of Seoul prohibits selling ground floor seats in the Soccer Stadium - Seoul now has no concert venues over 20,000!

  • I knew what he was doing was going to screw KPop huge.

The mods are strict on me so I cannot use expletives on him, but he showed how little he cared about KPop by showing his respect to soccer.

This is how the floor looked like during his soccer stadium concert.

Since his fans are mostly over 45, they were OK with it.

However, would a typical KPop fan pay an arm and leg to attend such farce of concert?

The City of Seoul, after complaints by Son Heungmin, Korea's best known soccer player, about the lawn, prohibited the use of Ground Floor for concerts. It would have let IU use the Ground since it was already agreed for her to use it, but from 2025 there would be no more ground floor seats allowed to be sold.

Which basically closes the door to any KPop act worth its salt.

With the Olympic Stadium effectively closed until 2031 because it is being remodelled and the Korean (Yes, I want to hyphenate it so badly) baseball would be played later, there are no more concert venues which can host more than 20,000 in Seoul.

Seventeen , who had concerts at the Incheon stadium, is now having a concert at the Goyang stadium . Both are out of the way and poorly maintained. KPop is basically kicked out to the hinterlands.

When BTS returns there will be no venues capable of holding them so I think they will have to start their world tour at Nissan Stadium in Japan or some place in USA.

Bang should have bought Lim Youngwoong's company for a higher price, so LYW would not have been able to pull this shtick, but Bang spared some money on LYW while wasting $1 billion on Scooter Braun, and it is going to bite Bang's behind quite badly

No one outside of Korea cares a bit about Korean soccer.

Lim Youngwoong put a coup de grace to KPop by respecting Korean soccer.

  • I think Korean national team has game in middle of october

still I don't get then why the grass ain't changed?

it's typical to do it after big concerts which might damage it

I guess kpop companies and others didn't want to pay big fees for replacement

    and here we are

  • I’m wondering if there might be a way to cover the grass to protect it. Hockey teams here cover the ice to protect it when there are events. Hopefully there is something so it’s a win win for both sides

Korea is not like Europe, and its climate is not good for lawns.

And the only concert it had was the LYW concert which did go thru all these crap to 'protect the grass'.

It is just that the climate is not suitable

The Korean soccer fans are recalcitrant. The games could be held in other spots but they want money.

There is no win-win. It depends upon who is the Mayor of Seoul in any given day.
