Cute is the number 1 compliment I receive. At times I considered whether it was infantilizing and decided it was not. Yes, children and puppies are cute, but it's used differently when trying to court someone. It's often a compliment meant with good intentions. If I got offended every time someone called me cute, I'd have very few prospects.
